TABurroughs

This series of paintings is part of my exploration of "insignificant" and worn-out items. In this case the jumping off point for these pieces are old, rusted and broken locks. What captured my imagination about old locks as a symbol is the idea of a forgotten guard of something that may or may no longer be of any value. In each of theses paintings a lock stands guard over a forgotten secret.

After a recent road trip with my closest friend and dearest brother, who has been a member here for years, I have decided to join the DA community. He is an inspiration to many here including me, both in the studio and in life. I am deeply thankful to him for his years of friendship and for inviting me into this community I have been following the conversations and debates here for a while and think that it is time to jump in. These are the first paintings that I am uploading to DA. These paintings are part of a larger idea that I am interested in at the moment.
